Debate Watch Parties

Presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain will appear in their first debate tonight, starting at 8:00 p.m. CDT. The debate will be shown on all major networks. PBS anchor Jim Lehrer will moderate.

If you’re interested in attending a debate watch party, we’ve heard of two in town tonight:
A group of Obama supporters will watch the debate at Kayotea in downtown Columbia. If you’d like to join them, head down to the tea shop, located at 912 E. Broadway, at 8:00 p.m.

The Mizzou College Republicans are watching the debate at the Columbia Victory Headquarters, located at 1301 Vandiver Rd. Republican National Committee Deputy Chairman Frank Donatelli will drop by the party at 6:00 p.m. to make some remarks. Partygoers are welcome to come to office from 5:00 p.m., when the group will begin calling voters for support.
