Campaign workers get up early to spread the word

Think you had to spend a lot of time at the polls? Susan Elledge, of Boone County, and Doris White, of Columbia, have been there all day.

The women, both Obama supporters, came out to help for different reasons. Elledge worked as a greeter on the Campaign for Change Access team outside the Columbia Activity and Recreation Center. Though the Obama symbol on her shirt was camouflaged by the neon green palette, she still sat far away from the campaign cut off point, greeting voters and helping them with any questions they had about the voting process.

White was out for a different reason. She encouraged voters to pass Proposition B, the ballot initiative for home-care workers. White had been at the polls since 7 am, and said the response to Prop B has been generally positive.
