No matter who we voted for, the newsroom definitely took a moment to take in newly elected president Barack Obama’s acceptance speech. For us, it is one of the first endings of a marathon that has stretched more than a year.

It was strange to know we were watching a historic moment. This wasn’t something completely unexpected — it was an outcome that we knew could be possible. We had time to prepare.

But suddenly, there it was.

Some typed feverishly, recording every word for history. Others just listened. Still others didn’t turn their eyes from computer screens as they designed tomorrow’s front page.

And then we turned to the next questions at hand: What more can we tell you? What’s next?
