Governor requires state agencies to reduce energy consumption (Columbia Missourian) — Gov. Jay Nixon signed an executive order Thursday that will require all state agencies to reduce energy consumption in buildings by 2 percent each year for the next 10 years.
House leaders scrap stimulus spending plan (Columbia Daily Tribune) — In a major policy shift, leaders of the Missouri House now plan to use $1 billion in federal stimulus funds to reduce individual state income tax rates for the next two years.
AmerenUE pulls plug on project (Columbia Daily Tribune) — AmerenUE executives said today they were halting attempts to change Missouri’s utility regulation laws and suspending efforts to build a second nuclear-powered electric generating unit in Callaway County.
