CNN to highlight local consignment sale

CNN and CNN’s Headline News will feature consignment events in Columbia and Rolla put on by Just Between Friends in a segment called “How We Got Started.”

The segment airs 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Saturday on CNN or 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Headline News. It will also be shown 11:30 a.m. to noon Sunday on Headline News.

Just Between Friends is a company that holds consignment events of maternity and children’s items in 20 states. The Columbia event will occur from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Boone County Fairgrounds Event Center. The Rolla event will occur from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 18 and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 19 at the National Guard Armory. Admission is $2 for the first day of sales in both areas.

According to Just Between Friends’ Web site, items that can be sold and bought include furniture, toys, books, bedding, sewing supplies and clothing.  Consignors can make 60 to 75 percent of the item’s selling price.

Those interested in consigning items can register for events on the JBF Web site.  The site adds that consignors should have at least 20 items or $50 worth of items.  Consignors set their own prices. Volunteers run the sales and in exchange are able to shop before anyone else.
