Parks and Recreation finish public hearings, still soliciting comments for new park area

The plan for A. Perry Philips Park and Gans Creek Recreation Area — next to Rock Bridge State Park — is still getting tweaked, and the city Parks and Recreation Department seeks your input.

The department held the second and final of this round of meetings Wednesday night. Few people commented, and all spoke about the proposed equestrian area (here is our story about the first meeting).

The next step for the plan is to go to the City Council. Parks and Recreation Manager Mike Hood said the council will probably send it back to other commissions, which will hold more public meetings, then the council will seek more input before they vote.

To comment about the plan, you can submit a form before Oct. 1 on the department Web site.

What do you think they should do? Tell us here.
