GetAbout update: What’s finished, what’s been dropped and what’s pending? (CM) It’s time to take stock of what GetAbout Columbia has accomplished so far and explore what the organization plans to do with what’s left of its $22 million federal grant.

City officials unveil north Providence Road extension (CM) City officials said the new 4,100-foot extension of Providence Road, between Vandiver Drive and Blue Ridge Road, will make travel within the city easier. They view the new road as “the gateway to north Columbia.”

Community group hosts meeting about Tasers (CM) A community group is sponsoring a public meeting Friday to discuss the dangers of Tasers. The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Boone County Government Center, 801 E. Walnut St.

Residents offer input on East Columbia Area Plan (CM) The Columbia City Council requested the study as a result of the proposed extension of Stadium Boulevard and in response to interest developers have shown in the proposed project.

League of Women Voters sparks renewable energy discussion (CM) The Columbia-Boone County chapter of the League of Women Voters hosted its Green Power Forum on Tuesday. Information was presented about biomass, wind and solar energy.
