Roeder convicted in abortion provider Tiller murder case (AP) “Scott Roeder was convicted Friday in the May 2009 murder of Kansas abortion provider George Tiller. In his upcoming sentencing, he faces life in prision with the possibility of parole in 25 years.”

Curators approve student housing fee increase (CM) “A fee increase for residence halls and other student housing was unanimously approved on Friday morning by the University of Missouri System Board of Curators. The cost of all plans will increase but by different amounts. For example, the cost of a double room and 14 meals per week at MU will increase by nearly 4 percent, or $300, for a total of $7,925 for two semesters.”

County keeps up funds for shelter (CDT) “Boone County has maintained its level of funding for the Central Missouri Humane Society as its support to other non-governmental agencies has decreased.”

Year-round school not in forecast (CDT) “Year-round classes at some Columbia elementary schools will wait at least another year as school officials say they couldn’t find the funding to run the program.”
