Columbia Black Roundtable endorses candidates

The Columbia Black Roundtable announced its endorsements for mayor, Columbia School Board and Boone Hospital Center’s board of trustees, according to a press release from the group. The release also announced the Columbia Black Roundtable’s support of the  Columbia School Board bond issue.

The group endorsed Jerry Wade for mayor but did not announce endorsements for the Third and Fourth Ward races.  For the Columbia School Board, the group endorsed Jan Mees and James Whitt for the three-year term, and Phil Peters for the one-year term. It endorsed Barbara Weaver for the Boone Hospital Center board of trustees.

The Columbia Black Roundtable isn’t the only organization to recently come out in support of the school bond issue. On Monday, Regional Economic Development, Inc. issued a press release that stated the REDI board voted to support the passage of the Columbia School Board bond issue.
