Vague and unclear language could affect voter´s opinions on park sales taxes proposition, according to Mayor Bob McDavid. To fight misconceptions the mayor created Friends of Columbia´s Parks. On Nov. 2, voters will decided if they continue with the  current sale tax, which was renewed in 2005.

A Columbia man accused of  a violent assault in June will spend four years in prison. He has also been convicted for unlawful use of weapons and  for domestic assault.

 T. J Wheeler, Blues singer, will teach during this week about music and history at Grant Elementary School. This is his fourth year coming to this school.

Columbia ´s University Hospital celebrated on Wednesday its 1000 th kidney transplant. The first one was performed thirty years ago.
