Missouri changes judicial selection process (CNS)

In an attempt to ward off partisan election of judges, Missouri’s chief justice announced changes to the way many Missouri judges are chosen.

Council could make new SWAT policy permanent (Trib.)

City Manager Bill Watkins has recommended in a report to the Columbia City Council that a proposed ordinance on the policy changes be referred to the Citizens Police Review Board for consideration.

‘Keys’ city event set this week (Trib.)

On Wednesday, Mayor Bob McDavid and four other council members will participate in the “Keys to the City” event, where they will be available for questions from constituents at the same time staff from several city departments will be conducting an information fair about their functions.

The owners of Great Hangups Framing and Gallery want to rezone the southwest corner of West Boulevard and Broadway from residential to business.
