Christianson maintains razor thin lead over Robb

10:52 p.m.

Democrat J. Scott Christianson holds a narrow 180-vote lead over Republican Ed Robb in the race for Boone County presiding commissioner. More than 40,000 votes have been counted.

At Christianson’s watch party ab0ut seven people are crowded around an iPad on one of the Blue Note’s high, bar tables. Former Presiding Commissioner Don Stamper and Columbia Education Board member Jonathan Sessions were among the people discussing the election’s results.

The former commissioner said since the presiding commissioner race is for an open seat it’s unpredictable.

“I’ve lost one by 185 votes, so I’ve seen it this close before.”

As for Christianson, he said now was a time to “relax.”

“The votes have already been cast, we’re just waiting for the finals to come out.”
