Voters, poll workers, reporters wake early for Election Day

11:51 a.m.

Missourian photographer Eve Edelheit and I hit the polls early this morning, around 5:50 a.m., but this was late by poll worker standards. They started their day at 4:30 a.m.

Some voters were up early, too. By the time the Columbia Public Library opened its doors a little after 6 a.m., several voters were already shivering outside in the parking lot.

The Missourian’s government beat reporters were out talking to early bird voters this morning as they left the polls. Check this afternoon to hear what voters were saying. An audio slideshow about poll workers by Eve and me is also forthcoming.
