Update on airport interchange

Been hearing rumors about a new interchange at U.S. 63 and Route H?

Look no further.

The project is currently on hold, as the Missouri Department of Transportation and the Boone County Commission are waiting to see if funds can be allocated for the interchange.

Nicole Hood, the project manager on MoDOT’s side of the project, said the initiative is estimated to cost $14 million, and will be decided at a meeting with commissioners March 2.

Commissioner Skip Elkin said the program, if pushed through, would be a “huge, huge asset not just to Columbia or Boone County but all of mid-Missouri.”
