“Collective Black Vote” picks Mitch Richards for First Ward

KOPN radio host Tyree Byndom held the last City Council candidate forum of this election season last Saturday in an effort to reach a consensus vote among the African American population in the First Ward. Byndom collected 11 ballots at the forum and e-mailed dozens of other voices in the black community to reach that consensus.

Around 9 p.m. earlier tonight, Byndom posted the result in a comment on the event’s Facebook page:

“The Black Vote goes to Mitch Richards. It was a close race. The only other candidate that received votes was Darrell Foster. Pam Forbes and Fred Schmidt did not receive any votes. Please spread the word.”
