Columbia’s rapid growth in the past decade means the city’s political wards will have to change. Boundary lines must be drawn so that each ward includes the same number of people. Currently there are six wards, each with about 18,000 people in them.

Senate approves millions in federal money for local school districts — Columbia Missourian

The Missouri Senate approved $189 million in federal money for local school districts, ending a near two-month-long standoff with the House. The House passed the bill unanimously on Feb. 24, but the Senate had not taken up the measure until Monday.

Appointment restores court — Columbia Daily Tribune

Judge Michael Bradley became the 13th Circuit Court’s newest associate circuit judge on Saturday. The 13th Circuit Court had been down one judge for the past seven months before Bradley was appointed.
