Boone County Commission amends budget to give fairgrounds additional money-Columbia Missourian

TAG Events LLC will be receiving more money for the maintenance, repairs and utility costs of the Boone County Fairgrounds. The Boone County Commission passed a budget amendment transferring $85,192 to a fund for the fairgrounds and creating a reserve fund of $89,944 for future expenses.

Extra money is needed because the cost of utilities and repairs exceeded expectation Northern District Commissioner Skip Elkin said.

Boone County Commission to hold public hearings on 2012 budget-Columbia Missourian

Public hearings on the 2012 budget will be held at all Boone County Commission meetings until the budget is passed.

Expenses for the year are estimated at a total of $55.8 million and total revenue is estimated at $45.9 million. An increase in spending on road maintenance, government salaries and law enforcement equipment is included in the budget.

The commission meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Moberly officials say state didn’t share key Mamtek findings-Columbia Daily Tribune

Moberly Area Economic Development Corp. President Corey Mehaffy told a House committee Tuesday that the state did not show Moberly emails saying the factory Mamtek claimed existed in China could not be found. The House Interim Committee on Governmental Accountability and Oversight is looking into the failure of Moberly’s Mamtek factory, which left millions in debts and damaged the city’s credit rating.

Mehaffy, Moberly Mayor Bob Riley and Moberly Finance Director Greg Hodge were among witnesses Tuesday. State officials will testify today.
