Nixon details pipeline project on Missouri News Horizon

Gov. Jay Nixon joined executives from Enbridge Inc. Thursday to discuss further details about the multi-state oil pipeline project that will cut through Missouri. The 200-mile section of the pipeline that will pass through 11 Missouri counties will cost Enbridge an estimated $950 million. Nixon’s office estimates that 1,100 jobs could be created during the construction.

Missouri Senate panel reverses cut to labor investigators by The Associated Press

The agency that investigates alleged labor violations evaded termination by a Missouri Senate committee’s reversal. The budget plan passed in March by the House had originally sliced the number of state labor department employees in half. Responsible for investigating alleged violations of wage laws, illegal workers or child workers, labor investigators will continue to receive funding due to the decision of the Senate Appropriations Committee.
