Roger Wilson Indicted: Former Missouri Governor Charged With Mishandling Donation by The Huffington Post

Former Missouri Gov. Roger Wilson pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of misusing money. The same day of his guilty plea, federal prosecutors announced an indictment against Wilson and St. Louis lawyer Edward Griesedieck III. Wilson was involved in an illegal political donation made years after he left office. The indictment alleged that Griesedieck’s law firm donated $5,000 to the Missouri Democratic Party, hiding the cost in legal fees.

Missouri Senate panel expected to endorse budget plan by The Associated Press, The Kansas City Star

A Missouri Senate committee is expected to approve a budget plan that cuts funding for social services but not education. The committee has begun to adapt to elements of the budget plan already. The decision to hold funding flat for public colleges and universities, the decision to cut funding for state grants to preschools and for subsidized child care for low-income families.

Missouri Attorney General Kister reports raising more than $890,000 by The Associated Press

In the past three months, Democratic Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster reported raising more than $890000 for his re-election campaign. As of Webnesday, Koster’s campaign has reported a total of $2 million in his campaign bank account. Koster’s campaign official said that such strong fundraising shows Koster’s momentum heading into the fall campaign.
