Romney to address key conservative group at NRA event by Charles Babington/The Associated Press
In order to get conservatives behind Mitt Romney, the Republican presidential candidate, he spoke to the National Rifle Association on Friday in St. Louis. The address comes at a moment of heightened national concern about gun use because of the Florida case in which a neighborhood watch volunteer shot and killed an unarmed teenager. The NRA backed Florida’s “stand your ground” law, which is an important in this particular legal matter.
UPDATE: Nine E. coli cases now confirmed in Missouri by The Associated Press
State health officials have confirmed nine cases of E. coli in Missouri, specifically Boone, Copper, Howard, Camden and Jackson counties. Five of the E-coli victims are adults. A 2-year–old girl and a 17-month-old child have also developed symptoms of a condition that can cause kidney damage. Gena Terlizzi, public information officer for Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, said raw dairy products are a possible factors in the cases.

A legislative panel discussion hosted by the Missouri Student Association was held Thursday to inform students of how politically powerful they can be. Local lawmakers gave University of Missouri students information about budgeting, discussed roll roads and city buses and urged students to vote during a forum on campus.
