McCaskill outspoken on Violence Against Women Act by Jessica Machetta, Missourinet

The U.S. Senate voted to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act. Senator McCaskill voted for it, Senator Blunt against. Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Missouri) said on the Senate floor she’s been trying to help victims since she was the assistant prosecutor in Jackson County. 

Mo. marijuana measure striving to make ballot by The Associated Press, Southeast Missourian 

A leader of the Missouri legal marijuana movement says the campaign faces an uphill fight to gather enough voter signatures to make the November statewide ballot.

More for Less marches for higher education funding by Molly Duffy, The Maneater 

More than 150 students gathered outside the Capitol Thursday as More for Less took its final stand for the semester. The movement has responded to Gov. Jay Nixon’s proposed budget cuts to higher education with a letter-writing campaign, lobbying efforts in Jefferson City and a march.
