Luetkemeyer releases another campaign video

Two weeks before the primary, Republican candidate for the Ninth District House of Representatives seat Blaine Luetkemeyer has released his third television advertisement about the economy.

He also recently released a statement about negative advertising State Rep Bob Onder, R-Lake St. Louis.

“A group identifying itself as Pro Market Research (866-418-1349) have made calls in Randolph and Callaway County counties that first single out — then lie — about Luetkemeyer’s opposition to amnesty for illegal immigrants and his support for tougher penalties against those that abuse the elderly, according to those who received the calls and contacted Luetkemeyer’s campaign, including supporters of other Republicans in the race,” states the release.

The release went on to state that Luetkemeyer does not support amnesty for illegal aliens and that Luetkemeyer is for protecting seniors for abuse.

EDIT: Onder told me that the poll was not a push poll, which is when the poller asks leading questions to many voters in an attempt to sway them.

Onder added that he thinks Luetkemeyer’s campaign has used some form of negative advertising for the past five months, so “it’s really kind of silly and hypocritical to accuse me of push polling.”

Onder also said that he does think that Luetkemeyer supports some sort of amnesty for illegal immigrants, it’s just that Luetkemeyer doesn’t call it amnesty. Stay tuned for a video he will be releasing about the subject.

Earlier, Onder released a statement about the pro-life groups who have endorsed him, including:

  • Concerned Women for America
  • National Eagle Forum
  • Missourians United for Life
  • Missouri Republican Assembly
  • Republicans National Coalition for Life
  • Congressman Dr. Dave Weldon, Congressional Pro-Life Leader
  • Congressman Chris Smith, Chairman, Congressional Pro-Life Caucus

Luetkemeyer has been endorsed by Missouri Right to Life.

Onder has made his pro-life stance on abortion rights a central focus of his campaign.

All five Republican candidates have said they consider themselves pro-life.
